Welcome to Poconutz!

Yea! I'm officially a blogger!! Welcome to Poconutz. First let me tell you a little about myself. I am a 39 year old wife and mom to three girls ages, 20, 10, and 5. Yes you read that right. :) I love to shop and craft, but I also love to save money, so I am hoping to share some tips I have learned along the way!

First off let me state I am not an expert, so please let me know your tips as well and we will help each other out. To get us started I thought I would share some of my favorite online shopping tips.

Never pay full price if you can help it! I use to go online looking for an item, find it, and buy it. (I hate to think about all the money I wasted :( ugh!) Now I shop a little differently, especially for Christmas, birthdays, etc. The best way to shop for gifts, is not to shop at the last minute. Hard to do sometimes I know, but there are so many sites now that feature sale/clearance items that it is easy to create a stockpile of gifts or to find a gift deeply discounted! My second tip is to use a rebate site before you shop. I know there are several of these sites out there but my favorite is Ebates.com. These sites offer a percentage back if you go through them first and then they will take you to the store you are wanting to shop at. For example if you want to shop at Old Navy, you would go to ebates.com first, search for Old Navy on their site and then click there link which takes you to Old Navy's site. You simply shop as usual and then get a percentage (currently 11% as of today!) of your purchase price back. The percentages vary by store and sometimes they have special offers as well. Not bad for something you were going to buy anyway!
